There are about 450 species of oak trees found throughout the world's temperate zones. Oak trees produce acorns, a food source for animals and, in the past, for people.
Corks used as stoppers for wine bottles are produced from the bark of the Mediterranean cork oat, and Aleppo oak is used to make ink.
Since ancient times, this noble plant has appeared in art and symbolism. In Greek mythology, the oak was considered sacred to Zeus, and in Norse mythology to Thor.
Representing strength and endurance, oak leaves and acorns appear in coats of arms, architecture, coins, and seals. In 2004, it became the National Tree of the United States of America.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing an Oak Tree
How to Draw a Great Looking Oak Tree for Kids, Beginners, and Adults - Step 1
1. Begin by drawing forked branches. Use curved lines to outline the sides of the trunk. Then, draw “V” shaped lines between and above them to indicate the sides of the branches.
Connect the lines at the top.

2. Draw the base of the trunk and the roots. Extend the lines of the trunk downward. Then, draw a series of inverted “V” shaped lines to connect the sides of the trunk, allowing them to meet at points.

3. Draw additional branches around and between the first. For each branch, extend two curved lines and connect them at the top.

4. Texture the trunk. Draw diagonal lines at the roots, vertical lines on the trunk, and horizontal lines across the branches.

9. In addition to the shape of its leaves, the oak tree can be identified by its fruit - a nut known as an acorn. Draw acorns hanging singly or in clusters all over the crown of the tree. For each acorn, first draw a curved shape by doubling a curved line back upon itself. This is the acorn’s cupule, or cap. Then, draw a “U” shaped line to form the nut.

Oak differs from other trees in its wide trunk and dense foliage. We transfer such features to paper with a simple pencil and an eraser, and then paint them colorfully and voluminously.
Needed for drawing:
- sheet of paper;
- eraser;
- HB pencil.
How easy it is to draw an oak tree for a child
- Step 1
Draw a large oval circle to contain the oak leaves. After that draw out the torso as you see here and make sure you add a guide in the middle.
- Step 2
In this step you will start drawing out the curly looking lines that go around the entire perimeter of the oval shape you drew in the first step. Once you've done that, you can add multiple layers of leaves and branches to the top. Thickens the trunk of an oak tree, and then extract from the branches in more detail. Once you do this, you can move on to the next step.
- Step 3
What you will do in this step is draw out all the detail lines all over the trunk of the tree, and these lines, as you know, will be the shape of the bark. As you can see I drew in the face because the Oak tree is often referred to as "sad"

How to draw a green oak
Prepare for drawing:
- sheet of paper;
- colored pencils;
- black marker;
- eraser;
- white gel pen;
- HB pencil.
- Step 1
Let's outline the future oak in the form of two lines, where the base and roots will be.
- Step 2
Add a tree trunk, roots and main branches as simple lines.
- Step 3
We draw the crown with roots in more detail and outline the future foliage in the form of circles.
- Step 4
We draw the lower part of the picture, where there is a wide oak trunk, roots and branches. Adding extra touches to create texture.
- Step 5
In the middle of each circle in the upper part of the sheet, draw the outline of the foliage.
- Step 6
Draw the oak with a black marker and erase unnecessary details with an eraser.
- Step 7
We paint over the foliage on the tree and the grass at the base with a green pencil, creating volume for the light of enhancing the tone.

How to draw an oak tree in autumn
Oak, like many trees, looks very beautiful in autumn, when the foliage is yellower.
It is such a tree that we will draw on a sheet of paper and colorfully paint with colored pencils.
Need to prepare for drawing:
- sheet of paper;
- colored pencils;
- black marker;
- eraser;
- white gel pen;
- HB pencil.
- Step 1
Draw a vertical line in the center of the sheet. At the top, draw a large oval. At the bottom we make marks for the trunk on the sides.
- Step 2
From the side lines we create an outline of the oak and draw wide and thin branches.
- Step 3
Let's outline the future foliage in the form of large circles in the upper part of the tree. On the trunk and branches of the oak we draw lines and arcs to get the texture for the bark. Also at this stage, add the outline of the grass at the base.
- Step 4
From the circles we create a fluffy outline of the foliage.
- Step 5
Erase the construction lines with an eraser and refine the outline of the drawing.

How to draw an oak without leaves
Oak can be distinguished from other trees by its wide trunk and branches. We will draw it step by step with a simple pencil, and then paint it with paints or colored pencils.
Need to prepare for drawing:
- sheet of paper;
- colored pencils;
- black marker;
- eraser;
- white gel pen;
- HB pencil.
- Step 1
Draw two vertical lines, stepping back a distance.
- Step 2
From the lines, draw on the sides the future oak roots in the form of a ladder.
- Step 3
Add more oak roots at the bottom of the leaf.
- Step 4
Draw the base on the sides of the oak trunk and draw the outline of the wide branches.
- Step 5
We draw in more detail the trunk, roots and each branch in the drawing, and then move on to the middle, where we draw lines and arcs with a simple pencil to create a bark texture.
- Step 6
Use the eraser to remove the drawing lines, and draw the important ones with a black marker.
- Step 7
In the middle of the contour drawing, paint over the bark of the tree with a brown pencil.

How to draw a dry oak
