Whether you’re planting a cherry tree or an apple tree, it’s going to be important to care for the tree properly. Sometimes you might have issues with the fruit getting messed up by local birds.
The birds are naturally going to see the tree as a potential source of food. You want to be able to harvest the fruit yourself, though, and this means that the birds are getting in the way of your plans.

HOW TO KEEP BIRDS OFF BACKYARD FRUIT TREES

The simplest device is a spinner made from a plastic bottle. To do this, 3 or 4 cuts are made on the sides of the plastic container, so that part of the surface can be bent outward in the form of wings. The bottle, through the holes in the bottom and cork, is put on a thick wire, which can be tied to a vertical stick with an insulating tape or adhesive tape. Gas or propane cannons are expensive but effective devices that make sense in large garden areas. The gun consists of the following parts:
- metal bell;
- combustion chamber;
- gas bottle;
- ignition system;
- tripod;
- programmable timer;
- swivel mechanism.
A small portion of combustible gas is supplied from a cylinder into the combustion chamber, which is located at the back of the socket. When mixed with air, propane forms an explosive mixture. The ignition of the mixture is carried out using a piezoelectric element, which works like a lighter for household gas stoves. The result is a very strong cotton, which is enhanced by the bell. The sound pressure of such a "shot" can reach 130 decibels, and this is a very high volume. A propane gun is capable of driving birds away in areas from 2 to 7-8 hectares.
The programmable timer allows you to set work intervals from 2 to 30 minutes. Thanks to a tripod with a swivel mechanism, the bell rotates 300 after each “shot”, which allows you to cover a large area of \u200b\u200bthe site. The electronic part is powered by a battery, but there are devices with solar panels. The use of gas guns completely eliminates the habituation of birds to "shots", so the use of such devices will always be effective.
Spraying with protective agents
In addition to mechanical methods to protect cherries from birds, there are chemical methods of control. They are based on making the berries tasteless to birds. For this purpose, folk remedies and special chemical compounds are used.

Garlic tincture
This is a fairly effective preparation that is easy to prepare with your own hands.
To do this, pass 500 grams of fresh garlic through a meat grinder or chop in a blender. Then ground garlic is poured into 5 liters of warm water for one hour. Then the water is drained, and the garlic is again poured with one liter of water. After an hour, both solutions are combined and another 4 liters of water are added. Ornithologists believe they can be taught 700 words. The bird pronounces the words correctly and clearly, conveying the timbre and intonation.
The character of the red macaw is capricious and bad. It all depends on how much he got used to his masters. If a bird grows among people from an early age, it can be affectionate and friendly. If in childhood he often communicated with other animals, then he will be loyal to new pets in your home. There are times when a bird expresses jealousy or sympathy for its owners.

Behavior
The red macaw lives in the tops of trees. Most often, parrots are found near waterfalls and along the coast of rivers, as well as in the mountains.

Reproduction and life span of the macaw
How long do macaws live? These birds live in families or pairs, sometimes there are populations of several thousand individuals. is 40-70 years old, but there are centenarians aged approximately 100 years.
The mating season of birds is not fully understood.
Parrots are faithful to their partners all their lives. The breeding season begins at 4 years of age. To strengthen the union, parrots show tenderness. Birds nest in the hollow of a tall tree. Mating seasons always take place at different times. Pairs do not nest every year.
The number of eggs is 1-7, it depends on the type of birds. The female sits on the eggs for about a month. The chicks are born blind and naked, the first feathers appear after 10 days. Full plumage occurs after 2 months. At first, young individuals are under the supervision of their parents, who feed them and protect them from bad weather.
The number decreases every year. The reason for this is the illegal catching of birds for sale. The macaw is becoming an endangered species.
Reproduction in the natural environment
When spring comes, in April-May, the nesting season begins for red macaws. These parrots are monogamous, choosing a partner, remain faithful to him for life.
The readiness to acquire offspring occurs at 3-4 years. Red macaws look after very beautifully. In an effort to please the female, the male dances in front of her, nodding and throwing back his head. When the female agrees to courtship, the next stage begins. Sitting next to each other on a branch, the male and female gently sort out the feathers on each other's head, neck and tail with their beaks, while making gurgling sounds. They can start a game of catch-up by flying from tree to tree.

Macaws build their nests on a palm tree, and also on living or dead tall trees. Nests for offspring are used more than once.The female lays a clutch of two or three white eggs at intervals of three days. Only she is engaged in incubation, the male at this time guards the nest and brings her food.
After 24-26 days, blind and unfeathered chicks appear. For the first weeks, only the female feeds the offspring, then the male joins this process. About 100 days after birth, red macaw chicks fly out of the nest.

Enemies of parrots

Horizontal thick rods of at least 2 mm, the distance between them should be 2-2.5 cm. The bottom of the cage is preferably not mobile. A well-absorbent material is laid on the bottom. The size of the cage is at least 90x90x170 cm. The size of the aviary is from 2x3x8 m, shelters 2x2x2 m. Inside you need to place a wooden house that will serve as a pet for sleeping (70x60x100 cm).
A padlock must be used to prevent the bird from escaping from the cage. Other locks are very simple for them.
The feeder and drinker must always be kept clean. Toys do not need frequent cleaning. The cage needs weekly disinfection. The aviary is disinfected every month.
The cages are cleaned every day, and the aviary twice a week.
Branches from fruit trees are placed in the cage to get necessary vitamins.
Ara loves to swim, if possible, it is advisable to build a reservoir in the aviary. Otherwise, bathe the bird with a spray bottle.
